FREE PRE-PUBLICATION NOVEL - PARTICIPATE IN ITS FINAL VERSION
My third novel, Murderous Little Bastards, is finally complete but I think to be truly great, it needs the critical input of many readers before publishers are approached. I want to give readers a chance to participate in its final version.
The purpose of a novel, as an art form, is often to create an illusion of reality. Anything that interrupts one’s total immersion in the illusion should be removed from a novel. This includes inaccurate descriptions or any errors, that I might have missed e.g. spelling, grammar, character development, settings, chapter order, etc.
If you are interested in reading my novel, I will email you a free “Pre-publication Edition” in an eBook format. If you do not have an app for reading eBooks, I will direct you to free reading software.
The first one hundred participants, who send me comments, suggestions and corrections for the novel, will get their name listed on the acknowledgment page when it is published.
What is the novel about? It is about John Cross, an orphan, recruited from the desperate, poverty stricken, streets of Los Angeles by a capitalist sect. They recruit abandoned street children and develop them into wealthy entrepreneurs. Their motivation is in realizing 15% of the orphan’s subsequent life's assets and 15% of their company’s annual profits. The money, the sect realizes, is then invested in recruiting more abandoned orphans with entrepreneurial potential.
This novel is a study of the grey area between good and evil. Is it better to leave abandoned children to their short, brutish life on the streets or to "save" them so you can exploit them for the benefit of an organization? Is it wrong to murder one wealthy socialite when by doing so might save a thousand abandoned street children? Can you really remove the teachings of the mean streets and replace it with a deception of middle class respectability? Is it appropriate to rob someone, who robs you? If someone attempts to kill you and fails, is it acceptable, to run after them and slit their throat?
To keep readers absorbed, the pages have been soaked in romance, revenge, pursuit and escape. The novel is set in Paris, New Mexico, Nevada, Philadelphia and Delaware. It covers twenty years of John Cross’ life. Readers will learn how to buy businesses, run businesses and invest large sums of stolen or inherited money.
To participate in the creation of this exciting, new novel, please let me know of your interest.
