GitHub, the Microsoft owned computing giant, has blocked Syria, Iran, and Crimea developers. The company’s CEO, Nat Friedman, said they did not have another option apart from complying with the U.S. Export Administration Regulation (EAR). The policy requires GitHub to block Developers and other users in the restricted regions from accessing GitHub services such as the marketplace, private repositories, and maintaining private paid organization accounts.
