The Angel Of Bow | |
The Angel of Bow was built in 1938, just before World War II. As you look around the area you can see that a lot of social housing exists, and very few existing Victorian buildings remain. During World War II, the whole area was extensively bombed. The docks (Docklands) in the 1940’s were the first target to be hit. The pub is about a mile and a half away from Canary Wharf, which is where the docks were, so very close. If you look around you can see how the area has been re-built, it started in the 50’s. Over the last 5-years there have been at least 50 new developments, which means that a considerable amount of people have moved to the area to live and work. | |
