Sanguisugabogg Merch Review Sanguisugabogg exploded onto the death metal scene in 2019 with Pornographic Seizures, a four-song blitz of primitive depravity that’s as chuggable as it is disgusting. The band uses a lot of harmonics and a good mixture of tempos to make their music interesting. Boggs leans hard into the class-clown side of things with lyrics like "Dick Filet," about luring in pedophiles, hacking off their dicks and laughing as they die slowly. Homicidal Ecstasy CD After releasing their enjoyably disgusting debut Tortured Whole in 2021 Ohio's Sanguisugabogg have delivered a full length sophomore album that takes everything they've learned and sharpens it into a sick, gorey, and technical Brutal Death Metal scalpel. Featuring a whole new level of heaviness & ferocity on songs such as the gurgling opener 'Black Market Vasectomy' and a bowel-rattling performance from Jesus Piece vocalist Aaron Heard on the churning closer 'Feening for Bloodshed'. The production from Kurt Ballou (Converge, High on Fire, Nails) also gives the band a big boost in sound. While the overall feeling remains queasiness-inducing and meme-tastic, Homicidal Ecstasy focuses more on songwriting & skill than gimmicks. A filth-encrusted bass tone may kick off the riffing on "Testicular Rot" and china cymbals ring throughout the ruckus of 'Face Ripped Off', but it's the way the record moves, swerves, and explodes on tracks such as the manic 'Skin Cushion' that really impresses. All the while, drummer Cody Davidson lays down some almost jazz-like fills and bassist Drew Arnold delivers an array of guttural low end frequencies to keep the rhythms moving. Homicidal Ecstasy T-Shirt Ohio's most promising upcoming Death Metal outfit SANGUISUGABOGG returns with the anticipated full-length sophomore album Homicidal Ecstasy! After releasing their critically acclaimed full-length debut Tortured Whole in early 2021 the group went above and beyond creating a reimagined, violent and more mature technical Brutal Death Metal explosion that can withstand any maneuvers. Whether addressing Queen Elizabeth II's death, the COVID-19 pandemic, or slagging social media shit-talkers, Sanguisugabogg frontman Devin Swank leans hard into the class-clown side of death metal. The band's groove happy bludgeoning and primitive nastiness make for an infectiously fun listen. Following the release of their 2019 EP Pornographic Seizures, metal heavyweights Century Media jumped on board to give the Columbus, Ohio quartet a shot at a larger audience. Homicidal Ecstasy is the result. It's a more fully formed, yet still gross slab of death metal that delivers on the'meme-tastic' goofiness that gave the band their initial momentum.
