The domestic PVC (K-57) market in Chennai experienced a price Increase today. The commodity's price increased from Rs.76/kg to Rs.78/kg, marking a rise of Re.2/kg. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) with a K-value of 57 is a specific grade of PVC resin characterized by its molecular weight, influencing properties such as flexibility and processability. In India, several manufacturers and suppliers like Chemplast Sanmar, Shree Narayan Enterprises, and Uma Narayan Enterprises ensure the availability of PVC K57 resin for industries requiring specific material properties for their products. In 2018, the global production volume of PVC was approximately 44.3 million metric tons. This figure is projected to grow to nearly 60 million metric tons by 2025. The Asia-Pacific region holds a significant share of PVC production capacity, representing around 63% of the global capacity. China, as the leading global PVC producer, accounts for a substantial portion of this capacity. In contrast, the European plastics industry has experienced a decline, with production decreasing by 8.3% in 2023.
