Animals!

Animals, a huge and important part of God’s creation!

Throughout history, God has shown that He can use any part of His Creation to accomplish His purposes. Most are likely familiar with God's use of water in Noah's flood, His use of fish and bread in Jesus' miracle of feeding thousands of people, and many other examples. But have you ever considered how God specifically uses animals for His glory? There are many examples of this both in biblical times and also in modern times. It is also important to note that God values caring well for the creatures He created. This is a KJV Bible study guide.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

(God created man and gave man dominion over all animals. Some have done well with this responsibility and some definitely haven’t).

Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Proverbs 27:23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.

(God tells us to take good care of our animals. I’ve seen many examples of the opposite I’m sad to say).

Luke 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

(I’m sure there may be a different purpose for this verse, but, when I read it, one thing it shows me is that even dogs can display compassion on a human regardless of the status of the human [rich or poor]; a good example).

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

(I believe there will be animals in heaven, in spiritual bodies, just like us humans will be in spiritual bodies, see Isaiah 11:6-9. Notice that the ex-carnivores are eating grass because there is no flesh in heaven. See 1 Corinthians chapter 15:50 above plus other verses in this chapter).

My words follow: Is it wrong to hunt and kill animals, according to established game laws? No! Many animals, such as deer, are clean animals that are fabulous sources of protein for our human bodies. Most hunters treat all animals better than non-hunters anyway; I’ve witnessed this myself. Many of the largest and best conservation efforts are directed by former and present hunters; go figure. Has mankind been perfect in exercising dominion over all animals? No! Many mistakes have been made, but, many have carried out this responsibility the way God intended. Choose to treat animals the right way, God’s way; don’t be cruel to animals.
