Korean Stickers and Washi Tapes Washi tapes are a recent addition to the scrapbooking and paper crafting world, but they are proving to be a popular choice among many artists. They have a playful, yet durable, adhesive and come in a variety of decorative designs that make them more fun to use than standard masking tapes or other decorative papers. These tapes are also made from more sustainable materials than some of their competitors. The paper that is used to make Washi tapes is created from the bark of a variety of trees and plants. The most commonly used plant for this process is the gampi, or paper mulberry tree. This bark is stripped down and then boiled to soften it. Then, it is beaten with a wooden stick to separate the fibers and create a flat sheet. Some companies use a method called oxygen bleaching for their pulp. While the stickers may have captured some of the cast, they don’t adhere to the guidelines set by Shueisha and Group8 regarding the reproduction of their official photos. In fact, some of the pictures are even inverted or merged to form one sticker. A multi-layered puffy sticker can exhibit a more vivid three-dimensional visual effect. To achieve this, a first pattern layer 41 showing the cup, a second pattern layer 42 showing the cake, and a third pattern layer 43 showing the icing are coated sequentially on top of a base layer 4 having bottom adhesives. Then, the sticker is thermally cured to make the image of the object bulge. Finally, a cutting line 24 is provided to allow the sticker having the three-dimensional image to be detached along the line. Moreover, a sticker can be a cute decoration for notebooks or other items. It can also serve as a cultural representation of Korea by featuring famous Korean foods, landscapes, or landmarks. It can even be used to practice language learning by including some Korean words or phrases. Lastly, Korean stickers are affordable, making them a budget-friendly stationery item. | |
