FDM 3D Printing Service

FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) is a type of 3D printing technology that is widely used for creating prototypes, models, and even finished parts. Here's how it works:

Filament: FDM printers use a thermoplastic filament, typically made from materials like PLA (polylactic acid) or ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). The filament is fed into the printer through a heated nozzle.

Heating: The filament is heated until it reaches its melting point. This allows it to become malleable and ready for deposition.

Layer-by-layer deposition: The printer moves its extruder nozzle along predetermined paths, depositing the melted filament material layer by layer. These layers gradually build up to form the final 3D object.

Cooling and solidification: Once each layer is deposited, it quickly cools and solidifies, bonding with the previous layers. This process continues until the entire object is formed.

Support structures (optional): Some objects require support structures to be printed alongside them, especially if they have overhangs or complex geometries. These supports provide temporary scaffolding to prevent the object from collapsing during printing and are removed afterward.

FDM printing is popular due to its affordability, ease of use, and versatility. However, the surface finish of FDM-printed parts may not be as smooth as those produced by other 3D printing technologies like SLA (Stereolithography) or SLS (Selective Laser Sintering). Additionally, FDM printing may have limitations in achieving intricate details or fine features compared to those technologies.
