Day care & Socialisation Dogs are social creatures who are generally happy to play with either people or other dogs. At Paws to Play they get to do both, in an environment that is secure, stimulating and lots of fun! We have a variety of multipurpose rooms, all of which have a range of sofas, playframes, tunnels and dog houses and with plenty of space for both playing and resting. We have a big room for dogs that are big in size or energy levels; a smaller room for the smaller dogs or those that prefer a calmer environment; a covered and fully enclosed yard; a puppy zone, and a chill out zone. We encourage rest breaks for those that need it by dimming the lights and playing soft music in the chill out room. All rooms are heated and air conditioned. Each day is planned with every dog’s breed, temperament and energy levels taken into consideration. Activities include playing fetch or tug with a variety of different toys, tunnel time, jumping hoops/agility games, sensory games, water-play and a pool for hot days. We’re constantly coming up with new and fun things to do and switch toys and activities regularly, although favourite toys are always available. Our experienced team are always on hand to encourage positive play and good social skills, as well as give sofa snuggles and belly rubs. We use distraction techniques and positive reinforcement to discourage unwanted behaviour. 143997121_192583909275383_3344973339575454758_o.jpg Feeding & Medication We will give your dog any food or medication they require, although please note that they must be provided and clearly labelled with appropriate instructions. We have a separate kitchen/feeding area, as well as puzzle bowls of various levels for the fast eaters or dogs who like a challenge. Sleepy Heap.jpg Rest times Dogs will have rest breaks depending on their age, breed and length of time in day care. Puppies and younger dogs will have regular rest breaks; older dogs will be rested as necessary, depending on the individual dogs. Some dogs will happily curl up on the nearest bed or sofa when they’re tired, but for those that won’t, we have a chill out room where we can dim the lights and play soft music (while giving the occasional belly rub) to encourage them to rest. Any dog being fed will be rested before and after they eat. Vaccinations All dogs must be vaccinated against parvovirus, distemper, adenovirus, hepatitis and leptospirosis. We would also strongly recommend vaccinating against Kennel Cough. We will need a copy of the vaccination records. We do not accept aggressive dogs or female dogs in season, and kindly request that dogs that have been in season wait until 4 weeks after they’ve finished bleeding before returning.
