The price of Polyamide 6 (PA6) grade E35 has witnessed a modest decline in the Mumbai plastics raw material market On June 18, 2025 the grade was trading at Rs.187/kg, which came down to Rs.185/kg on June 19, 2025 — registering a drop of Rs.2/kg in just one day. Market players attribute the price correction to subdued demand from key downstream sectors such as automotive components, electrical housings, consumer appliances, and packaging. With the onset of monsoon across western India, production activity in certain manufacturing clusters has slowed, reducing short-term raw material procurement. Traders also highlight that steady inflow of both domestic supply and low-cost imported material from Asia and Europe has kept inventories at comfortable levels. Additionally, minor softening in feedstock caprolactam prices globally has contributed to this downward revision. The market has entered a wait-and-watch phase, with buyers delaying fresh orders in anticipation of further price corrections or discounts. While demand is expected to revive gradually with the improvement in post-monsoon industrial activity, current sentiment remains cautious.
