The price of CPP (Cast Polypropylene) Metallized Film, 25-micron grade, has seen a notable decline in the Ahmedabad packaging film market On June 21, the material was priced at Rs.149/kg. By June 23, it dropped to Rs.145/kg—reflecting a fall of Rs.4/kg over two days. According to industry sources, the drop in prices is largely due to weak demand from snack food, confectionery, and FMCG flexible packaging sectors, which are key consumers of metallized CPP films. Processors are currently facing slower offtake, leading to stock accumulation and price corrections by suppliers to stimulate movement. Additionally, lower polypropylene raw material costs—particularly for CPP-grade resin—and easing crude oil prices have influenced film prices downward. Competitive pricing by regional and overseas players has further intensified price pressure in western India. Export activity remains subdued, and the lack of fresh bulk orders has added to the oversupply situation. Distributors in the Ahmedabad region report that buyers are delaying purchases amid expectations of further softening in rates.
