Mumbai, June 24, 2025, The price of Polyamide 6 (PA6) Grade M28RC has recorded a soft correction in the Mumbai plastics raw material market. On June 23, the grade was trading at Rs.188/kg, which slipped to Rs.185/kg on June 24—a decline of Rs.3/kg in just one day. Industry sources attribute the dip to weak downstream demand from the automotive and electronics sectors, combined with increased availability of imported material, particularly from East Asia. Additionally, falling international caprolactam prices—a key input in PA6 production—have further weighed on sentiment. Sluggish export orders from OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) are also putting pressure on local distributors. Manufacturers in automotive components, electrical enclosures, and industrial machinery are reportedly operating at lower capacity utilization, resulting in reduced demand for engineering plastics like PA6.
