Mumbai, July 9, 2025 – The price of BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) Heat Sealing Film, Grade 25 Micron, has fallen by Rs.2 per kilogram in the Mumbai flexible packaging market. The rate, which was Rs.142/kg on July 8, declined to Rs.140/kg on July 9, indicating a softening trend in the sector. The price drop is primarily due to tepid demand from flexible packaging and converting units, especially those catering to snacks, processed foods, and FMCG segments. Moreover, higher inventory levels and increasing availability of lower-cost imports from Asia have added downward pressure on domestic prices. Packaging converters are cautiously watching the market, delaying bulk procurement in anticipation of further corrections. Additionally, fluctuations in polypropylene (PP) resin prices—used as the base raw material—have also contributed to overall pricing instability in BOPP film.
