It began its life as a sewing and full laundry service, supporting Melbourne’s textile industry in Fitzroy. Soon after the year 2000 Nina’s transformed into a self service laundromat. Though over the years the owners have changed, Nina’s name stayed with the business. We are children of those who immigrated to Australia from the 50s-80s. We want to capture and honour the collective spirit of all the hard working women who immigrated to Australia during this time. We don’t know who Nina is, but we know that she and her friends helped to build the culture in Northcote and Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs.
